RECENT GRANTS
REF Gives a $30,000 DI Grant to Support 5th Grade Outdoor Education!
Outdoor education is a powerful, hands-on learning experience that helps students grow in confidence, teamwork, and curiosity. When state funding for outdoor education was reduced, this long-standing 5th-grade tradition was at risk. REF acted quickly to help bridge the gap and ease the fundraising burden for schools and families. Thanks to this REF grant, 5th grade students from Cherry Valley, Stillwater, Carnation Elementary will receive $130 toward camp costs—helping ensure that every student has the opportunity to experience this memorable tradition during the 2025–2026 school year.
Tolt Middle School Yearbook Class Receives Photography Grant
A $1,500 REF grant brought three new Canon cameras to Mrs. Krufka’s yearbook class — sparking creativity and inspiring future photographers!
Students are learning new techniques, capturing events and sports, and even entering the Jostens Yearbook Photo Contest. As Mrs. Krufka shared, “It’s invaluable to have REF in our community.”
We are thrilled to support innovative ideas that enrich education for our RSD students!

Mark Your Calendars – REF’s Night Out
Saturday, January 31
We are busy creating a new fundraising night that you won’t want to miss. Mark your calendars – Saturday, January 31 at Novelty Hill-Januik winery in Woodinville. Auction tickets will go on sale in mid-November. Because we are combining forces with our past October REF Fest and annual auction, we will not be promoting a fall event. We can’t wait to see you in January!
