Happy Holidays from our REF crew!

December always seems to arrive with a mix of excitement and reflection. As we wrap up the year, we think about all the moments, big and small, that have helped our students grow. Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to spark curiosity, open doors, and keep our mission of enriching education for our Riverview students.

We are busy planning our biggest fundraiser of the year – REF Night Out on Saturday, January 31. We do hope you can join in the fun and help us make a big impact on education.

Did You Purchase Your REF Night Out Tickets Yet?

After 18 years, we’ve rewritten the script for our annual gala. We left the seated dinner and hotel ballroom behind for a fun, more casual experience at Novelty Hill-Januik winery. We’ve got some exciting things planned. Purchase your tickets before they sell out!

Let’s Talk Food

We will be rolling out a series of Culinary Bite stations, including Baked Beecher’s Mac and Cheese, Beef Sliders, Chicken Skewers, Grand Marnier Prawns, Mushroom Arancini, Cheese and Preserves plates, and Smoked Salmon Platters to name a few of the bites we will be serving. In other words, come hungry and be ready to feast!

Say Goodbye to Assigned Seats

Our Live auction will be more casual with bidding in the Terrace room around high-top tables and couches as our 12 live auction items will go fast. Be ready to bid!

Elevated but Casual Dress Code

With a more casual atmosphere, dress for a night out on the town and be prepared for dancing in our DJ tent after the Live auction. Please wear comfortable shoes. The tented area has paver spacers that are not ideal for stiletto-type heels.

No Stress Party Bus

With limited parking spaces at the winery, we highly recommend carpooling, using rideshare services, or hopping on our party buses! Your per-person ticket includes a complimentary glass of prosecco, with convenient pickups and drop-offs at Tolt Middle School (Carnation) Duvall Park & Ride.

Thanks to one of our talented board members and Cascade Valley Designs owner Ann Marie Gill, our website is revamped with a fresh new look. You can find our event details, grant information and application, and ways to give to our organization at refweb.org.

With 90% of our operating budget given directly to teachers and students, we maximize the impact of your donations.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which means your gift is fully tax-deductible. As you plan your year-end giving, we hope you’ll consider supporting our work and helping us continue opening doors for students in the year ahead.

There are many ways to give back to REF and our students:

  1. Attend and participate in our upcoming auction – REF Night Out on January 31.
  2. Contribute one-time or monthly donations, donate through your payroll system, or send a donation by mail at Ways to Give – Riverview Education Foundation.
  3. Participate in the REF 5K Run in June.
  4. Become a sponsor at one of our two fundraising events, REF Night Out and the REF Run.
