Happy Fall!
As the weather changes and we all settle into this new season, we are all making changes! For some, it’s back to school; for others, it’s kids off to college; and for some of us, it’s bringing out jackets to head out and enjoy the glory that is Fall in the Valley!
Our REF board is busy planning for some exciting changes in the months ahead, with new events and an increase in our fundraising efforts to help our students and educators maximize their educational opportunities. We hope you’ll join us at our events and share in our efforts to raise funds for our local students!
REF Fest was a fun way for all of us to connect over the last few years! This year, we hope you saw us at the Fall Harvest Festival last weekend. Please also make sure to stop by and say HI at the Duvall and Carnation Halloween celebrations!
We’ve Been Awarding Grants Since 1991!
Our local non-profit was founded by a group of volunteers back in 1991. The foundation model offers a way to direct tax-deductible donations for financial and community support, enriching the education of our students. We strive to be a self-sustaining resource to promote educational excellence.

Celebrating Harvest in Duvall
We had a great time celebrating Duvall’s inaugural Harvest Festival at the historic Dougherty Farmstead last Saturday. The kiddos enjoyed treasure hunting in our “Hay Dig” and getting pictures with Cosmic. It was a wonderful kickoff to celebrate our valley’s fall season.
Hey Teachers
A friendly reminder – grant applications are open year-round, and we award grants monthly. Grant deadlines are due on the 30th of the month with principal/admin approval. Review our grant FAQ for details. Teachers, staff, parents, and students are eligible to apply for grants. Grant limits range from $2,000 to $10,000.
REF’s Night Out – Saturday, January 31
We are busy creating a new fundraising night that you won’t want to miss. Mark your calendars – Saturday, January 31 at Novelty Hill-Januik winery in Woodinville. Auction tickets will go on sale in November. Because we are combining forces with our past October REF Fest and annual auction, we will not be promoting a fall event. We can’t wait to see you in January!
