30 REF Grants Awarded
to Riverview Schools
On
January 26th the Riverview Education Foundation presented its
newest grant awards to the Riverview School District. Thirty grants were
awarded for a total of $34,874.48. REF grants provide funding for a wide
assortment of programs, materials and equipment that enhance the educational
opportunities of students in Riverview schools.
Some of this year’s grants include:
- Physical Science lab equipment for Tolt Middle School
- Orchestra instruments for the District Orchestra
- Subscriptions to BrainPOP.com for Cherry Valley, Carnation, and Stillwater elementary schools to give students access to enhanced curriculum
- Leveled reading books for the library at Carnation Elementary
- A digital camcorder for Tolt Middle School tech classes & clubs
- Partial funding for a “sport court” for the Eagle Rock Multi-age Program
- “ActiVotes” and “ActivExpressions” remotes for Cedarcrest High school and Stillwater to allow student interaction with Promethean whiteboards
- Partial funding for headsets and intercom equipment for Cedarcrest High School drama productions
REF grants are funded entirely by donations and from money raised at special events, and all proceeds benefit Riverview schools. Click here for a full list of this year’s grant awards.
